Mezhyhirya residence – Ukrainian escaped president’s place
Kyiv’s newest tourist attraction is Mezhyhirya, the estate that once ‘belonged’ to ex-president and wannabe Ukrainian dictator, Viktor Yanukovych. A wander through the opulent grounds – totalling 137 hectares and costing hundreds of millions of dollars to create – gives visitors an idea of just how corrupt the Yanukovych regime had become.
A well-kept forest park zone, decorative lakes with fountains, fresh air, openwork bridges. You will be impressed by the ostentatious luxury of the former residence, you will see the famous Honka, Spa Center, golf course, and the luxury ship Galleon. You will walk along the 3 km Embankment on the coast of the Kyiv Sea.
This area has a very deep historical past. You will visit the nature reserve valley, which gave this area its name. We will tell you why the Cossacks called the Mezhigorsky Monastery “Zaporizhzhia Lavra” and what role the last Ataman of Ukraine played in the life of the shrine. The list of interesting and exciting stories continues further. Our task is to return the love of old Kyiv to Mezhyhirya. We offer you a great day off in nature, away from the “stone jungle”, walking in the shade of branchy trees, feeding the trout, admiring flower parters, cascading waterfalls and exotic arboretum. You will also have the opportunity to visit the cynological center and the museum of retro cars.
